Los 11

El pasado 17 de mayo se inauguró “Los 11”  en el Centro Cultural Venustiano Carranza en México Df! Donde mi amigo Javo y yo tuvimos el agrado de participar con nuestro proyecto de fotografía Club Soda. Los 11 es una exhibición colectiva de fotografía, dibujo, pintura, etc. Fuimos invitados a este evento por Marti Guerrero, uno de los artistas underground más importantes del DF, hace comics, pintura, dibujo, graffiti, etc. Es curioso, ya había visto algunas de sus obras de graffiti por la ciudad sin saber que era él y desde que me dijeron que él las hace, ahora cuando veo una digo jaaa yo sé quién hizo ese graffiti!!! Siempre me ha gustado conocer a gente interesante y ésta exposición estuvo llena de ellos, Sin-Futuro tiene el tipo de fotografía que me gusta, muy real, espontánea, que no se planea ni se forza. A Lucyna Haluca Piechocka, súper linda, me gustaron mucho sus dibujos y pinturas. Las ilustraciones de Cecilia Barreto, increíbles!! En fin, aquí les dejo unas fotos de la exposición que estará abierta hasta el 8 de junio y los links de algunos de los artistas que participaron. Gracias especiales a Marti Guerrero por haber invitado a Club Soda a ser parte de los 11!

 

This past May 17 was inaugurated “The 11”at the Venustiano Carranza Cultural Center in Mexico Df, where my friend Javo and I had the pleasure to participate with our photography project “Club Soda”. The 11 is a collective exhibition of photography, drawings, paintings, etc. We were invited to participate by Marti Guerrero, one of the most important underground artists from Mexico City; he makes comic, paintings, drawings, graffiti, etc. It’s funny; I had seen some of his graffiti work around the city without knowing he was the one, who made them, and know when I see one of his works I go ohhhh now I know who did that!!!… I’ve always like to meet interesting people, and this event was full of them, Sin-Futuro has the kind of photography y like, very real, spontaneous, not planned or forced.  Lucyna Haluca Piechocka, super cute, I liked her drawings and paintings a lot. The illustrations by Cecilia Barreto are amazing! Anyway, here are some photos of the exhibition which will be open until June 8, and also I’m leaving the links to some of the artist that participated. Special thanks to Marti Guerrero for inviting Club Soda to be part of “The 11”.

La vuelta al mundo en un Sábado / Around the world on a Saturday

Éste sábado fui con mis amigas a pasear por el DF, llegamos a reforma y nos encontramos con la 4ta edición de La Feria de las Culturas, 75 países muestran su riqueza artesanal, cultural y gastronómica. Nos divertimos muchísimo visitando cada país y su gente, a Francia y sus macarons, a Italia y sus helados, a Marruecos con sus lámparas, a Rusia con el vodka y las matrioskas, a España con las tapas y alpargatas, en India no perdimos la oportunidad de hacernos Mehndi. En fin, la feria estará hasta el 27 de mayo, vale la pena ver las diferencias y similitudes en cada país. @tatisarch @pamopetenera las quieroooo y éste post es para uds.

This Saturday I went with my friends to take a walk in Mexico City, we arrived to Reforma (the most important street in Mexico City) and we found the 4rth edition of the Culture Fair, 75 countries are showing their cultural, gastronomic and crafts richness. We has so much fun visiting each country and seeing its people, France with the macarons, Italy and the ice-creams, we saw beautiful lamps in Morocco, vodka and matrioskas in Russia, alpargatas in Spain, and when we arrived to India we couldn’t miss doing Mehndi. Anyway, this fair runs through May 27, its worth seeing the differences and similarities in each country.

Serie 4_Ventanas / Series 4_Windows

Para la cuarta serie de fotos escogí las ventanas que tomé en mi viaje a San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Méx.

For the fourth series of photos I chose the windows of the pictures I took on my trip to San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mex.

Casa Estudio Diego Rivera

Fui a visitar la casa-estudio Diego Rivera en la colonia San Angel Inn, al sur de la ciudad de México.  Cuando Diego y Frida regresaron a México después de una larga estancia en Estados Unidos se instalaron en éstas casas, hechas por el arquitecto mexicano Juan O’ Gorman en 1931-1932, hicieron de éste espacio una casa, un laboratorio, un lugar de encuentros donde acudían personalidades de la política, artistas, amigos, etc. Fue de las primeras construcciones funcionalistas en Latinoamérica y fue muy importante en la arquitectura mexicana.  Encuentro muy interesante ésta obra, me gusta como Juan O’ Gorman juega con dobles alturas, colores, volúmenes y materiales que hacen diferente a la manera de habitar el espacio. La obra está compuesta por tres volúmenes, dos que son las casas-estudio y un volumen más chico, que fue el laboratorio de fotografía del papá de Frida Kahlo.

I  went to visit the house of Diego Rivera in San Angel Inn, south México City. When Diego and Frida returned to Mexico after staying for a while in United States, they settled in these houses, made by the Mexican architect Juan O’ Gorman in 1931-1932. They made this space a house, a studio, a laboratory, a gathering place for political figures, artist, friends, etc. It was one of the first functionalist buildings in Latin America and it was very important for Mexican architecture.  I find it a very interesting place, I like how O’ Gorman plays with double heights, colors, volumes and materials making different the way of inhabiting a space. This project consists of three volumes, 2 of them are the house and there is a smaller volume, which was the photo laboratory of Frida Kahlo’s father.
